Lusitania D. C. Lopes
PacWIMA walks alongside its sister Associations like Women In Maritime Association for the Asia Region (WIMA-Asia) in advocating #SDGs in the maritime sector.
Lusitania Lopes is an active member of the Governing Council of WIMA Asia and is the Legal, Gender and Planning Advisor with the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the Government of Timor-Leste. She is an admitted Australian lawyer and a member of the International Bar Association.
Her work today as a lawyer in Timor-Leste involves heavily with Maritime Administration and the Authority on ratification of the IMO Conventions as well as assisting the Mid-Term Review assessment with Tierra Mar on Indonesian Seas of Large Marine Ecosystems (ISLME).
We welcome women leaders like Lusitania who use their platform supporting #WIM and working towards fulfilment of #SDG14 and #SDG5.
