Day For Women In Maritime

This year, a one-week online campaign will commence on 18 May, celebrating the Day for Women In Maritime with the theme “Women in Maritime: Resilience and Leadership amidst a global pandemic”. The themes for IWD 2021 (Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world) and WMD 2021 (Seafarers: at the core of shipping’s future) were used as a basis to consider the D4WIM theme for 2021.

Here’s what you can do to show your support. If you have a Facebook account, change your profile picture to show your friends that you support women in, and intending to join the maritime sector and encourage Governments, Maritime Administrations, the Ship Owners, Ship Operators, all relevant agencies to promote and take action to celebrate the day meaningfully; creating equal opportunities for young girls and women to become informed leaders in the maritime sector.

  2. Click ‘Updated Profile Picture
  3. Click Add Frame
  4. Search for D4WIM
  5. Choose the frame from the results.
  6. Click Use as Profile Picture.
  7. Set the expiration date for the frame. e.g. one week, etc.
  8. Click “Use as profile picture” to save
